HGTV + Etsy Treasury Challenge Winner!

I am so happy & excited to announce that my "Deck the Halls with Vintage Flair" collection was chosen as one of the winners of the HGTV + Etsy "Deck the Halls Together Treasury Challenge 2011"!

My collection was inspired by Mrs. Lilien's "Retro Holiday Decor" on HGTV which featured beautiful photographs & ideas for decorating your home for the holidays with vintage style.

My "Deck the Halls" collection was featured on HGTV's blog "Our Favorite Christmas Treasury Lists"! This is such an incredible honor for me and my little shop Rue 78 Vintage! My sincerest thanks to the staff of Etsy and HGTV for liking my treasury and selecting it for their blog feature!

I would also like to give a special thanks to Tim at Handmadeology for featuring my collection & fellow HGTV Treasury winners on Handmadeology.com!

Happy Holidays!!

Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy

Perhaps one of my favorite things about the holiday season is Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker". I first saw the George Balanchine version of the ballet performed by the New York City Ballet at Lincoln Center with my mother. I was completely taken with the costumes, sets, music, and of course, the part where the Christmas tree rises from the stage in a dazzling display of hundreds of twinkling lights & candles.

The Land of Sweets portion of Clara's adventure is a feast for the senses. Clara and her prince are treated to a host of dances inspired by exotic spices & sugary confections. This wondrous and enchanting land is ruled by the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy. Her pas de deux with her Cavalier provides the spectacular grand finale of the ballet.

My collection Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy sparkles with plum, violet and lilac goodies inspired by the magic & majesty of the sugary fairy queen...Enjoy! xoxo

Hooray! Etsy's Front Page!

I'm stuck at home, sick with a dreaded cold & sinus thing-y, when what do I see? My Vintage 1950's Fire-King Loaf Pan on Etsy's Front Page in a beautiful collection called "Gifts for the Adventurous" by Maria and her wonderfully unique shop Adelo Creations!

I may not be feeling all that "adventurous" at the moment, but this bold & joyful collection {as well as the Front Page shout-out} sure put a smile on this gal's sneeze-y face!

xoxo and ah-chooo!

Mmm...Peppermint Hot Chocolate!

It's that time of year again! That magical time when the sky begins to darken earlier and shop windows are dressed in their holiday finest. The first frosty days of late fall are filled with the promise of the winter fun that awaits- ice skating at the park, sled races, snowmen, the hope of snow on Christmas morning and, of course, hot chocolate!

This collection was inspired by favorite fall & winter indulgence- peppermint hot chocolate. I hope you enjoy these cozy & creative items in delicious shades of mint, wintergreen, cocoa and marshmallow as much as I do! Cheers!
